Huge gratitude for new toilets and drinking water facilities

November 29, 2018

Last week, Helle and Jacob Stokkebye, the founders of Choice Foundation, together with their daughter Stella, opened a new school project in Vietnam. Muong Thin School showed its appreciation for the donation with dancing, competitions and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new toilets and drinking water facilities.

We also handed out sweets from the baker and confectioner Xocolatl & brdr.menighedens honningkagebageri and toothbrushes and toothpaste from the dentists Tandlægerne i Rosengårdcentret. A big thank you to both of them for supporting the project.

Muong Thin School is located in Dien Bien Province in northern Vietnam. The province is one of the three poorest in the country. The average monthly income is just USD 20. The families often subsist on growing rice or other crops.

Rural schools in Vietnam often do not have toilets and drinking water facilities. If there is no access to a toilet, there is a risk that pupils, especially girls reaching puberty, will drop out of school. THAT IS WHY Choice Foundation is working to ensure access to toilets in schools. And because we believe it is a basic need that everyone should have met.
